Red and rosé wines |
|
| |
Pinot noir and Portugieser are the two classic red wine grape varieties in the Dr. Dahlem winery. We have been cultivating these grapes for more than 40 years. Pinot noir is ideally suited to the production of traditional German-style rosé wines, a chilled glass providing a perfect complement to a balmy summer evening. The Portugieser grape produces light, highly aromatic red wines. In 1995, we planted Dornfelder and Regent vines for the first time. Regent is a grape variety with high resistance to fungus, and produces full-bodied, intensely coloured red wines. Dornfelder is a cross between established strains of red grapes which is now in common use as one of the main varieties for creating stylish German red wine. |
